Hero Wet Shaving Set by Barba Tradicional

Today, I want to introduce you to “Hero.” This shaving set is set to be released on October 10th, 2024. Depending on when you’re watching this video, it might have just been released or is about to be released. This collaboration soap is truly special to me as it is created in partnership with Elysian Soap Shop and Shannon, who is known for her outstanding handmade soaps in the U.S. Shannon has a fantastic reputation within the wet shaving community for her amazing performing soaps and delicious scents.

As a wet shaver myself, I’ve always admired the celebrities in wet shaving who have their own soaps with their names or faces on them. We often dream about having our own soap or shaving set. Shannon and I spoke about this possibility, and we made it happen! It is a tremendous honor and a dream come true to have my very first collaboration soap. I am incredibly proud of how it turned out, and I’m excited to share it with you.

The release date is October 10th, 2024, starting in the U.S., and the Wet Shaving Store and Pastures are on board to support this project. I want to express my sincere gratitude to them for trusting this venture. This is the first-ever shaving set inspired by the fragrance 212 by Carolina Herrera, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

During our discussions regarding the scent, I shared my love for perfumes and fragrances inspired by various scents. While there are many shaving sets inspired by different perfumes, we noticed that there wasn’t one inspired by 212. Thus, we took the opportunity to create “Hero,” inspired by Carolina Herrera’s 212.

If you’re unfamiliar with the fragrance, the top notes include grapefruit and clary sage, the mid notes consist of ginger, violet, and jasmine, while the base notes feature sandalwood, guaiac wood, and amber. It has a marine aquatic vibe while also offering citrus and woodsy notes—a truly amazing scent. Honestly, I believe “Hero” is even better than the original, with a brighter, more pronounced citrus profile that blends beautifully.

Now, let’s talk about the label and the name. I have a tie that holds great sentimental value to me, as it belonged to my grandfather. I’ve always admired it since I was a child; I would open his closet just to gaze at it. After my grandfather passed, I was fortunate to inherit it. This tie is special to me, and I still wear it on special occasions.

I really wanted the design of this set to reflect something meaningful, and I felt it was fitting to pay homage to our heroes. These can be our direct heroes, family members, or even public figures who have influenced us. When using this set, I hope it serves as a reminder of those who have shaped who we are today.

Furthermore, I wanted to convey that the quality of this soap and scent will provide you with an incredible shave and help you feel confident—like your own hero for the day. We all know how important a good shave is, especially for special occasions or important meetings, and I want you to feel that sense of confidence and celebration every time you use this set.

The set includes a 110-gram (or 4 oz.) soap, an aftershave splash that is alcohol-based and contains witch hazel in a 100 ml bottle, and an eau de toilette perfume in a 50 ml bottle. Additionally, to make this experience even more special, there will be a Gillette ball-end razor that belonged to my other grandfather. I’ll also be using my Astra SB green blade and a Yaki synthetic brush to create the lather.

Hero will be launched in the U.S., available through The Wet Shaving Store. For those living elsewhere in the world, they do ship worldwide. Barba Tradicional Shaving with Hero

That was today’s shave! It truly was an amazing experience. The soap performed splendidly, just as all of Shannon’s soaps do. I genuinely appreciate her formula; it is tallow-based and provides an excellent lather with great cushion and volume. The consistency was perfect, enabling smooth gliding of the razor.

Moreover, the post-shave feel was exceptional—it moisturized my skin beautifully and left it feeling great. After applying the aftershave, it absorbed quickly and didn’t leave my skin oily or greasy, just silky smooth. The aftershave contains alcohol, witch hazel, aloe vera, and various oils that care for the skin and provide nourishment after shaving.

While I won’t be applying the perfume today, as I’m heading to bed, I can assure you it follows the scent profile of the set perfectly. It’s a fantastic fragrance, suitable for any occasion, day or night, all year round. The 212 scent has been my go-to perfume for a long time, and now “Hero” has earned a special place in my collection.

Regarding the razor, I utilized a mild razor paired with my Astra ASP green blade, which I find sharp yet comfortable. I previously didn’t appreciate them, but now I enjoy the smooth shave they provide, especially with more mild razors. My trusty Yaki synthetic brush did an excellent job building the lather as always.
