My Ocean-Inspired Shave: Subtle Art, Boti, and PAA Ascension

What’s your favorite aquatic shaving soap? Drop it in the video comments; I want to know. This shave’s lineup was Subtle Art Following Seas, my Boti Ocean Current brush with the NC Chubby Badger knot, and the PAA Ascension Select dual open comb, loaded with a Voskhod blade on its second shave.
There’s a reason I picked that open comb. I didn’t touch a trimmer first, I just went straight at the beard and mustache with the razor. No prep pass, no shortcuts. Took it all off in one go.
The shave itself was really good. Subtle Art makes a fantastic soap, super slick, and the scent is great. I love it, plain and simple.
And look at that Boti Ocean Current brush. That NC Chubby Badger knot is something else. Really nice knot on that brush.

The PAA Ascension is already back in its box; that’s how smooth this one went. I took the beard and the mustache off with it and came out clean, no nicks, no cuts. There have been people out there over the years saying I’m not a real shaver because I don’t shave my chin. Well, I made it through this one clean. Am I a real shaver now? Did I pass the test?
This one’s turning into a short video, funny enough, just a minute twenty-two. I went to Costco and had a good time checking out their shaving aisle. It’s a pile of cartridge razors in there. I’d still like to grab one just to see how a Gillette or a Schick actually stacks up against a Feather blade. Maybe another time.
You can see my turkey neck showing here on camera, and it bugs me. If you’ve lost a lot of weight, does that skin tighten back up eventually? If I drop a little more, will it shrink down some? I hope so. Pelican boy over here.

I’m going on 60 here. But a good shave takes ten years off, so do I look like I’m closing in on 60? I’ll let you be the judge.
As for my favorite aquatic, it’s probably Subtle Art Following Seas or their Draconis Aqua; those are two of my favorites. Monica’s Pirate Cove is a good one too, and their Bay Rum is really good; I’m not sure if that one even counts as an aquatic might be the name. Anyway, when it comes down to it, I’m picking Following Seas. That’s my favorite Subtle Art soap, hands down.
Alright, you guys have a great day and I’ll see you later. Guess we’ll call that a shave. Stay smooth.
