Hello, hello. Today is a very special day for me. At 2:00 this afternoon, my daughter’s wedding begins. I need to look good. That means a proper shave, and that means the Occam’s Enoch. We will get to that.

But first, I need to tell you about the Frank Shaving brush.

Get a Free Frank Shaving Brush with Code SIG SOLO 71

You’ve seen the SIG SOLO brush that Ming at Frank Shaving made for me. The G5B knot, 26mm. It’s on his site and I’ll put the link below. This morning, Ming contacted me and said: “SIG, I made 25 of these brushes with a sign we didn’t end up liking. Is it okay if I include one in each order that uses your code?”

Of course. Yes. Of course that’s okay.

So here is the deal. Go to Frank Shaving, buy something, use the code SIG SOLO 71. The first 25 orders using that code each get one of these brushes for free. Twenty-five. First come, first served. It’s magnificent, and thank you, Ming.

I’m using the same brush today. For the wedding shave. It’s a great brush.

Stirling Black Cherry

The soap is Stirling Black Cherry, with the matching aftershave. I know it’s summer in a lot of places, but I love this scent. That marzipan, that cherry, that whole thing. We have a celebration in the house today, and it fits.

Stirling is, as far as I know, one of the only soap companies more than ten years old that hasn’t touched their formula. Same ingredients, same recipe since 2012. Fourteen years. Other companies change their base every couple of years and release version 2, version 3, version 4, whatever. Unless an ingredient is no longer available, I don’t understand why you do that. I’ve spent good money on something I liked, and then it changes on me. I find that frustrating, and I’m not shy about saying so. Stirling doesn’t do it. I like that about them.

The Occam’s Enoch

This is my favorite AC razor of all time. Full stop.

Injection-molded stainless steel. 79.1 grams. Handle is about 3 and a quarter inches, with a funny little thing at the end that gives it a peculiar balance. When you set it down, it wants to lie at an angle. Strange. But when you’re shaving, that balance actually works for you, especially when you rinse. It always turns the right way. I’ve grown to love it.

I have my name on it. That’s how much I love this razor. I paid for the engraving option when I ordered, but still. They offered it and I said yes immediately.

The blade today is a Feather Professional AC on its fourth use. Still performing well. This razor takes the non-floating blade design, which I prefer over the floating blade on the other Occam’s model, the Nano I think it’s called. More predictability in the hand. More control.

I believe the Enoch is sold out and probably not coming back. If you have a chance to get one, go get it. I promise you’ll love it. I know I do.

A Stando Rod in Mint Condition

While we’re on the subject of AC razors: I just bought one I wasn’t planning to buy.

A fellow in the community named Joseph had a Stando Rod AC razor for sale, second-hand. Made in Poland by Stanislaw. Mint condition. Really beautiful. Serial number under 100, so one of the very first ones made, around 2017 I think. Wonderful.

Stanislaw doesn’t deliver to Greenland. That’s a problem I run into more often than I’d like. So when something like this shows up in the community in perfect condition, you jump at it. I jumped at it.

The bowl today is the Hendrix Classics bowl. One of my favorites for working up a lather.

I won’t be answering comments today or tomorrow. The wedding, the reception, the party, all of it. Normally I answer every comment within a couple of hours, and I’ve been doing that for almost six years now. But my daughter is getting married. I hope you’ll bear with me.

She came back not long ago from a year in Italy. The youngest one. My ex-wife and I sent her because she wanted to learn a new language, and she didn’t want an English-speaking country. She wanted Italian. We listened to her. It was the best decision we ever made. She’s back, she’s fluent, she’s doing fantastic, and today she’s getting married.

We’ll all be in our national attire. Me in a white anorak with black trousers. Her in a Greenlandic dress with all the pearls, the silk, the seal boots. All the women dressed that way. It’s going to be something.

One small thing before I go: YouTube has added a mandatory disclosure if anything in your video was made with AI. I don’t use AI. The thumbnail, the intro picture, everything you see here is me. Two lights and a camera. That’s it.

Thanks for watching. We are not obsessed. We are dedicated. SIG SOLO, on his way to the wedding. Out.
