Strike Gold Shave Giveaway: Win Camp David or Smooth Operator

May 29, 2026 · Shave Dad
Camp David and Smooth Operator prize packages from Strike Gold Shave

Jerry dropped a giveaway in the Shave Dad group on Friday. By end of day the thread had 101 reactions and nearly 200 comments. Not a surprise. Two free soap and aftershave sets tend to move people.

Two prize packages. Two winners. One person walks away with a Camp David soap and aftershave set from Strike Gold Shave. The other takes home a Smooth Operator soap and aftershave set. Neither prize requires a credit card.

Camp David

Camp David is a Strike Gold Shave fragrance built to run tropical up top and warm dark at the base. The notes, directly from the product page:

Opening: Tropical Citrus & Island Breeze Middle: Pineapple, Birch & Oakmoss Base: Dark Cherry, Almond & Warm Woods

Strike Gold drew from three reference fragrances when building this one: Virgin Island Water, Aventus, and Lost Cherry. That’s a deliberate spread. Virgin Island Water is the anchor for the tropical-citrus brightness. Aventus brings the pineapple and birch. Lost Cherry puts the dark fruit and warmth in the base. Whether this blend hits all three notes at once or leans toward one depends on the batch and your skin, but on paper this is a properly layered fragrance with a real arc from opening to base.

The middle is where Camp David earns some attention. Birch and oakmoss alongside pineapple is not the typical tropical-soap move. Oakmoss in particular is polarizing. It carries an earthy, mossy quality that can ground a fruitier opening into something more serious. Could go beautifully. Could be too much for people who want straight beach vibes. Worth knowing before you shave with it.

The base settles into dark cherry, almond, and warm woods. That combination reads warm and sweet but not cloying, at least on paper. Almond tends to bridge notes and soften edges. Warm woods are the ballast. If the opening and middle land, the base should give the whole thing a satisfying finish.

Strike Gold’s own framing for the scent: “clean enough for a statesman, bold enough for a commander-in-chief.”

The soap formula includes tallow, goat milk, shea butter, kokum butter, aloe vera, dragon fruit, chamomile, and tussah silk. The aftershave splash is built on a denatured alcohol base with rose water, witch hazel, aloe vera, vitamin E, and chamomile and red clover extract. Both products are family-owned and American-made, per Strike Gold.

Smooth Operator

The second prize is a Smooth Operator soap and aftershave set, also from Strike Gold Shave. Scent notes and product details on this one aren’t publicly available at the time of writing. It may be a new drop arriving alongside Camp David. That’s not unusual for a giveaway. Sometimes the winner is the first in the group to know what a product is. Worth entering for that alone.

How to Enter

Three things:

Comment “I FEEL LUCKY” on the original thread in the Shave Dad Facebook group.

Head to ShaveDad.com and join the mailing list.

Verify your email when the confirmation message arrives. That last step matters. Unverified addresses don’t count.

Jerry will pick two winners at random from the valid entry pool. The drawing happens after the entry window closes, same format as previous group giveaways: comment, join, verify, wait.

With nearly 200 comments in the thread, the pool is solid. Your odds depend on how many people followed all three steps correctly.

What This Means

Giveaways in the Shave Dad group aren’t just about the free product. The mailing list requirement is not incidental. It’s how Jerry keeps the community connected when Facebook’s algorithm decides to bury the next post. When you verify your email, you’re in for future announcements, drops, and whatever the group has coming.

Camp David as a prize is well-timed. The soap goes in and out of availability at Strike Gold Shave, and this giveaway puts it in front of the community before people have to decide whether to spend on it. If you win and like it, you know where to go next time. If you don’t win, the product is available directly through Strike Gold Shave when it’s in stock. At $23.99 for the soap, it sits in the mid-range artisan tier.

Strike Gold and Shave Dad have worked together before. Jelly Rings and Spumoni were both collab soaps built for the group, and Commando was a three-way project with The Wet Shaving Store. Camp David is a Strike Gold original, not a Shave Dad collab, but the relationship between the two is real and goes back a while. That matters for what these products are and why they show up in the group.

Smooth Operator is the wildcard. Enter and find out.
