Strike Gold Shave 1776: Six Presidents, One Soap

Frank put this in the group Saturday morning. Strike Gold Shave has a new soap. It’s called 1776. Releases June 19th, exclusively at strikegoldshave.com. Scent notes are still coming.

Strike Gold Shave makes limited patriotic-themed soaps - a lot of them named after presidents - and their drops pull a crowd in this group before the details are out. This one is squarely in their lane.

The Label

Look at the label. Top left, the Statue of Liberty in front of the American flag. Top right, an American eagle. Running across the center: “UNITED WE STAND.” Below that, six presidents in a row, each with name and term underneath. Washington. Lincoln. Kennedy. Obama. Biden. Trump.

In that order.

He’s talking about the three most recent presidents on that row - Obama, Biden, and Trump. Washington and Lincoln are mythology now.

No hierarchy. “UNITED WE STAND” across all six, and then the design steps back.

The label doesn’t push either way. It shows you six presidents in chronological order and lets you sit with it.

For a soap named 1776, that fits. That year doesn’t read the same to everyone.

What We Know About the Scent

Specific notes are still TBA. What Strike Gold Shave has said: 1776 is a blend of their existing presidential lineup soaps - hit recipes they’ve already released, now combined into one. On top of that, a “subtle touch of smoky accord” meant to capture the feeling of fireworks. That’s the new element, the thing that makes this more than a greatest-hits mix.

If you’ve bought anything from their presidential catalog before, you’ve had a preview of part of this. The notes will tell you which ones. The smoky accord is the wildcard.
