Twenty-five years, two officers, one release

Some collaborations are about a scent. This one is about a date. September 11, 2026 marks twenty-five years since the attacks of September 11, 2001, and to honor it, Shave Dad and Strike Gold Shave have made a benefit release: the 9/11 25th Anniversary Tunnels to Towers shave soap and aftershave splash, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The two men behind it carry the date personally. Jerry, the founder of the Shave Dad community, is a retired NYPD officer. Frank, the artisan behind Strike Gold Shave, is a retired Port Authority police officer. The label says what the release is for: in honor of the innocent, the brave, and those who answered the call.

The scent

Frank built the fragrance as a tribute in the classic style, drawing inspiration from Tom Ford’s Beau de Jour, a scent Strike Gold describes as classic and sophisticated. Per the product page:

Top notes: lavender extract and fresh lavender. Heart notes: rosemary, oakmoss, mint, basil, geranium. Base notes: patchouli and amber.

That is a traditional fougere lane, lavender forward with a green herbal heart and a warm, grounded base. It is a dignified choice for a memorial release, a barbershop scent in the oldest sense.

The products

The shave soap is made on Strike Gold’s tallow and goat milk base: stearic acid, tallow, aloe vera, shea butter, potassium hydroxide, kokum butter, goat milk, sodium hydroxide, fragrance, castor oil, glycerin, dragon fruit, chamomile, and tussah silk.

The aftershave splash is a witch hazel and rose water formula: denatured alcohol, rose water, purified water, aloe vera, witch hazel, fragrance, vitamin E, calendula, chamomile, and red clover extract. Strike Gold notes that international customers receive a non-alcohol formula of the splash.

The release opened as a presale in August 2026, with presale customers receiving their products before the general public release. Because every dollar of proceeds goes to the foundation, no discounts or coupon codes apply to this release.

Where the money goes

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation was founded after September 11 and provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children, and builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. For a release made by two retired officers, it is exactly the right recipient, and Strike Gold’s commitment is total: 100 percent of proceeds, not a percentage point less.

From the group’s shelf

Strike Gold and Shave Dad have history together, from Spumoni to the Jelly Rings release, and Frank’s tribute work runs deep; his 250th anniversary blend United We Stand took the same care with a different date. This one stands apart from all of them. It is not a soap you buy for the lather math. It is a soap you buy because of what September 11 means, and because the money lands where it should.
